i am wondering why there are no comments yet about this so deliciously familiar-to-us dish. Again, this afternoon, i prepared it pretty much the same as i did for 40 years, It is one of many things that my husband and i love and agree on together. How fun to find the same recipe card pictured on Vintagerecipecards, com, here, It’s an oldie but a goodie. i always bake it in a mini-bridal shower gift from a Concordia girlfriend – a 10 1/2 cast iron skillet.

P.S. i notice that i have (SIC) commas in my comment where i should have dots, or periods – please ‘moderate; for me. Thank you so much.

Linda – fear not – my husband, too, loves this dish, which I started making about 40 years ago. But I then packed my wooden recipe box somewhere in the attic, so the NALR went into our culinary memories. Found the box last year and we’ve made NALR regularly since then. Tonight, I wondered if I could find the recipe online and voila! here it is with your loving comments! So, I’m going to take a risk and suggest that you also try “The Best Taco Casserole”. Google it and let me know!

I was thinking about this very recipe card while looking for a stroganoff recipe. What fun to realize this is the exact recipe card tucked away in my “millions” of recipe cards in a closet. What a great surprise! The card is probably 50 yrs old. Found the recipe as a new bride and it

was a staple for a long time. Thank you for the memories and smiles it brought to me. Made my morning!
